Senate Efforts to "Fix" ACA Continue
Senators Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Patty Murray (D-WA) have at least 24 co-sponsors of their legislation aimed at making fixes to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). As leaders of the lead the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, which oversees health care, they are key players in the debate and have enlisted the support of 12 Republican and 12 Democratic Senators for their bill. See the full breakdown of cosponsors here and an explanatory chart of the bill here.
Debate and conversation around Alexander-Murray, as the bill has come to be called, may continue through December even though President Trump has tweeted that he no longer favors the legislation.
