This is an introduction to Collaborative Problem Solving. It is an evidence-based practice that supports people in gaining the skills that they need to be successful.
This course is highly valuable for DSPs and those supporting people in a variety of contexts.
It begins with a common philosophy and language, then discusses how to approach the conversation to build skills while solving long-term problems in a person's life. It outlines a person- centered, trauma informed approach for how we provide services.
Learning Objectives:
• Discuss the philosophy that "people do well if they can"
• Discuss the assessment phase and identifying highly predictable problems
• Discuss the skill building approach to a conversation in "Plan B"
